Promoting seasonal employment in tourism through the LEADER fund

The LEADER program (Liaison Entre Actions de Développement de l'Économie Rurale) is a European funding mechanism designed to support the development of rural areas. It supports innovative local initiatives aimed at strengthening the economic and social attractiveness of regions. As part of this dynamic, the Beaune & Pays Beaunois Tourist Office is receiving a grant from the LEADER fund for the implementation of a project dedicated to seasonal tourism workers on the Route des Grands Crus.

Attract, welcome and retain seasonal tourism workers

Faced with the challenges of recruiting and retaining seasonal workers in the tourism sector, the Beaune & Pays Beaunois Tourist Office is implementing an ambitious action plan aimed at promoting the tourism industry and the Route des Grands Crus destination to seasonal workers. The goal: to attract and retain new workers. The actions carried out by our tourist office thus aim to improve the reception and integration of seasonal workers.

Concrete actions to improve the experience of seasonal workers

Thanks to the support of the LEADER fund, several initiatives will be implemented to support seasonal workers and offer them better reception conditions:

  • The creation of a Seasonal Pass : a system offering advantages and discounts to tourism and cultural stakeholders in the region.

  • The development of a Seasonal Worker Welcome Guide : a practical tool bringing together all the essential information to facilitate their installation and integration.

  • The organization of a welcome and integration evening: a friendly event to allow seasonal workers to discover the area, create links and better integrate into the local community.

This project, led by the Beaune & Pays Beaunois Tourist Office, also involves that of Gevrey-Nuits-Saint-Georges, in collaboration with the Pays Beaunois, illustrates the region's desire to invest in sustainable and attractive tourism for professionals in the sector within the perimeter of the Route des Grands Crus.
